Idle equipment does not stand still. It corrodes, seizes, degrades and depreciates - and the difference between a rig that reactivates cleanly and one that does not is decided during the months it sat.
When rigs come off contract, the instinct is to spend as little as possible on them. That instinct is usually expensive. Century Solutions provides structured cold-stacking and preservation programmes that protect the asset's condition and its residual value through the idle period.
A preservation programme covers the mechanical, electrical and structural systems that deteriorate when unused - corrosion protection on the mast and substructure, fluid changes and system preservation on engines and pumps, moisture and environmental control on electrical and control systems, and scheduled rotation of rotating equipment.
Just as importantly, the asset's documentation is preserved alongside it. Certification status, inspection due dates and maintenance history are maintained through the stack so that reactivation begins from a known position rather than a discovery exercise.

Cold stacking costs materially less to maintain but takes longer and costs more to reverse. The right answer depends on how long you expect the asset to be idle - which is exactly the analysis we will run with you before recommending either.
